Wrong Place Wrong Time

This is a true story about how being in the wrong place at the wrong time and making a few bad decisions can be disastrous. After an arrest for drunk driving, Dave loses his job along with the BMW that went with it. He decides to spend the summer in Spain, to re-evaluate his life.
Arriving in Spain, Dave gets a job right away. However, it quickly goes bad when one of his new co-workers thinks Dave is hitting on his girlfriend. After taking a beating, Dave moves on; even though he has only enough money left to last him a week or so, he decides not to worry about his financial situation and to party hard.
He spends all day on the beach working on his tan, and then all evening partying until sunrise. When his money runs out, the landlord of the hostel throws him out of his room with only his passport and the clothes on his back.
I won’t ruin the suspense by telling you what happens next, but suffice it to say, it will bring to mind some scenes from Midnight Express. This is an incredible adventure narrative, full of vivid descriptions and exciting plot twists. It’s a great read, even more so because it’s true!
This is David P. Perlmutter’s first story— I hope it’s not his last!
